Make: Krieghoff
Model: Model 32
Serial Number: 2425
Year of Manufacture: circa 1965 – 1970
Gauge: 12 Gauge, 2 ¾” Shells & 20 Gauge, 3” Magnum Shells
Action Type: Top-Break Over/Under with Single Selective Trigger and Ejectors
Markings: The sides of the receiver have some scroll work, the underside of the receiver is marked “KRIEGHOFF / MODEL 32”, the barrel selector is marked “T” on the left and “B” on the right. The interior bottom of the receiver is marked “BN” in electro pencil and the top left edge of the receiver is marked “2425”. The inside of the forearm hardware is marked “2425”. The 12 gauge barrel set is marked “KRIEGHOFF K. G. ULM GERMANY / MODEL 32 – 12 GA. / BUHLER-LAUFSTAHL” on the upper left side of the top barrel and “MADE FOR EUROPA CORPORATION MIAMI FLORIDA” on the upper right side of the top barrel. The top barrel’s left side is marked “U1C”, “12/70” and with an Eagle over “N” proof mark. The left side of the lower barrel is marked “U1C”, 12/70”, “P” and with an Eagle over “N” proof mark. The left side of the monobloc, above the ejector is marked with an “S”. The underside of the monobloc is marked “2425” above an Eagle over “N” proof mark, “466” and an Ulm antler mark. Below these marks is “KRIEGHOFF / ULM / I”. The 20 gauge barrel set is marked “KRIEGHOFF K. G. ULM GERMANY / BUHLER-LAUFSTAHL” on the upper left side of the top barrel and “MADE FOR EUROPA CORPORATION MIAMI FLORIDA” on the upper right side of the top barrel. The left side of the top barrel is marked “UC1”, “12/76” and “MAGNUM” which are partially obscured by a metal filler bar that fills in what would be a gap left by the 20 gauge barrel using a forearm fitted for 12 gauge barrels. The left side of the lower barrel is marked “UC1”, “P” over “20/76”, “MAGNUM”. Below that is an Eagle over “N” proof with “12” to its left and “00” to its right. The underside of the monobloc is marked “W614 / 2498” above an Eagle over “N” proof followed by “666” and an Ulm antler mark. Below these marks is “KRIEGHOFF / ULM / I”. Each of the 20 gauge ejectors are marked 3”.
Barrel Length: Both Barrel Sets are 28” Long.
Choke: The choke markings, as we understand them are all “1” which indicates Improved Cylinder with about .010” of constriction. The 12 gauge upper barrel actually measures about .006” of constriction and the 12 gauge lower barrel actually measures about .005” of constriction. The 20 gauge upper barrel actually measures about .008” of constriction and the 20 gauge lower barrel actually measures about .005” of constriction.
Sights / Optics: The 12 gauge barrel set is mounted with a small steel mid-rib bead and a Bradley bead front sight where the white bead has broken off. The 20 gauge barrel set is mounted with a small steel mid-rib bead and a white Bradley bead front sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut with a pistol grip. There is a black grip cap with white spacer and a Terminator recoil pad which is well fitted and still pliable. The left side pistol grip has one small compression mark and the right side is unmarred. There are about a dozen small handling and compression marks scattered throughout the butt stock. There are both repaired chips and a lost chip where the stock mates with the receiver on each side of the trigger guard. Please see our detailed photos to examine this area. The forearm has no chips or scratches but does have some scattered handling and compression marks. The start of an about ½” crack may be seen at the right rear of the forearm latch, but this cannot be seen going through to the inside. The LOP measures 14 3/16” from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad. The drop at the comb measures about 1 3/8” and the drop measures about 2” at the heel. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blue Barrels with White Receiver
Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The 12 gauge bores are bright as are the 20 gauge bores. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some thinning and loss, mostly from assembling and disassembling the shotgun. There are several light scratches on the underside of the receiver. The barrel sets have some bright spots on the sharp edges of the barrel ribs. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear except as discussed. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Very Good to Fine condition and would be Fine without question if the butt stock was not missing some wood chips where it joins at the lower receiver.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The tang safety does not move or engage, we believe this was intentional (there are no alibis in Skeet when shooting an Over/Under.) We have not fired this shotgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This two barrel set shotgun is supplied with sub gauge barrel inserts for the 12 gauge barrels in 28 Gauge and .410 Bore. These inserts are marked in electro pencil with “2425”. One insert from each set is also marked “Top” and has a red felt marker band to help indicate for which barrel it has been fitted. The chamber end of the tubes show some wear from rubbing against the breech face during opening and closing of the action. The bores are bright and have fixed chokes. Also provided are three sets of ejectors, one in 12 gauge, another in 28 gauge and one in .410. Each set has been marked with a “T” to indicate which ejector is fitted to the top barrel. Other than that, the 12 gauge is unmarked; the remaining ones are marked “28” or “410” as appropriate. There is a small soft faced hammer for installing and removing the sub gauge tubes. The hammer is well used and has some loss of finish and face. A small triangular stone is provided for smoothing any burrs that might occur. The hammer and stone are in Good and Very Good condition respectively. Lastly, an aluminum Americase comes with this ensemble, capable of carrying the forearm and butt stock in their lined and padded compartments in the lower portion, along with a compartment for accessories. The upper portion has four compartments with a hinged cover secured by Velcro straps. The compartments hold either a barrel set or a sub gauge tube set. The case has two keyed latches for which no keys are supplied and a latch secured by a combination lock, the combination for which is supplied. The case is marked on the exterior but does not seem to have been abused; it’s likely some of the scuffs could be cleaned off if desired. The case as a whole is in Very Good to Fine condition and absolutely solid physically.
Our Assessment: This is a complete four gauge American Skeet package. The Krieghoff Model 32 (which evolved into the K80) needs no introduction to serious skeet competitors. They are designed to survive being shot literally thousands of times (they keep on ticking – more like a Rolex perhaps than a Timex) and many current K80 parts should be interchangeable with this Model 32 if ever needed. It is provided with a ported 28” barrel set in 12 gauge and an unported barrel set in 20 gauge. Also supplied are two sets of sub gauge inserts (28 and .410) that are not marked as to manufacturer, but fitted to the 12 gauge barrels. All of this is contained in an Americase fitted case. This is just less than 32 pounds of skeet shooting heaven and supplies. If you are looking to step up your game, this is your chance.
